Lady Hornets tennis drops tri-match

MONTGOMERY—The Lady Hornets tennis team of Alabama State University hosted Kennesaw State University and Alabama A&M University in a tri match.  The Lady Hornets headed into the matches a player down and was unable to overcome the loss in the two matches.  ASU lost 7-0 to KSU and lost the nightcap 5-2 to Alabama A&M.

KSU won at one and two doubles to pick up the doubles point, but they also were able to pick up the win at three doubles in a forfeit.  KSU then swept all six singles matches including picking up a forfeit win at six singles.

AAMU won all three doubles matches and then won four of the six singles matches for the 5-2 final.  ASU picked up singles wins by Renita Rhone and Beoncia Dunn at four and five singles.

The Lady Hornets fall to 1-3 on the season and will host Tuskegee University at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 19.
