Auburn, Al (WSFA 12 News) - Auburn High School math teacher Greg Sanders runs a tight ship in the classroom. That's how he likes it, and he says the kids like it too. "Some of the kids call me Major Payne like I've been in the military or something because I run such a disciplined room," Sanders said. "But I think they like it that way."
Mr. Sanders has been in the classroom for the last 12 years. He's been at Auburn High School for 3 years. He says it's really important that the kids know you believe in them. "They can do anything they want to if they take their time and have the discipline to practice it."
The kids and their parents believe in Mr. Sanders too. Seven different families nominated him for the Class Act Award. "This attention may be a little embarrassing but I'm proud to do what the Lord called me to do, and that's help teach kids math."
Mr. Greg Sanders from Auburn High School is a true Class Act.
