Lady Senators return home for rescheduled Brenau game

MONTGOMERY, Ala. ---- The Auburn University at Montgomery women's basketball will kick off its final homestand of the season on Tuesday, when it hosts Brenau University in a rescheduled game at the AUM Physical Education Complex.

The contest was originally scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 7, but was rescheduled in an effort to minimize travel time for Brenau during its fall semester finals. Tip-off for the game is slated for 6 p.m.

The Lady Senators enter the game with an overall record of 13-15 and are 5-6 in Southern States Athletic Conference contests. AUM has won three of its last four games, including its last two on the road to William Carey and Loyola.

Senior Carlie Ainsworth paced AUM in scoring at a mark of 11.2 points per game, while adding 5.0 rebounds per contest. Fellow senior Haley McIntyre is averaging 9.6 points and 5.4 rebounds per game, while junior Courtney Thacker and sophomore Stephanie Torrence each average 8.4 points per game.

The Tigers sport a 13-14 overall record and are 5-10 in SSAC play. Nikki Reed leads the team in scoring at a mark of 9.6 points per game, while Gabby Harvey pulls down a team-high 7.5 rebounds per contest.

Following the game against Brenau, AUM will close the regular season on Saturday, when it takes on crosstown foe Faulkner at 2 p.m. For the contest against the Lady Eagles, fans are encouraged to wear orange in support of the men's and women's basketball teams.
