Machines removed from Country Crossing

Electronic bingo machines were removed Wednesday night from Country Crossing in Houston County.

A statement sent to the media from Country Crossing confirms one of its vendors removed its equipment today.  The Country Crossing statement said this was a necessary step toward a successful reopening.

This is to fulfill an agreement between the machine manufacturers and Alabama's attorney general.  Luther Strange cut a deal with the nation's three largest manufacturers of those gaming machines to have the equipment removed from Country Crossing, Victoryland and White Hall.

No word on when the rest of the machines will be removed or when any will be taken out of Victoryland or the White Hall Entertainment Center.
