Residents rally to keep farmer’s markets open

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) – Residents, vendors and business owners in the West Fairview area of Montgomery are rallying together to keep their farmer's market open.

At a press conference Sunday afternoon, event organizers asked the Agriculture Commissioner and Governor to suspend the closing effective Tuesday, and give them 90 days to create a plan to raise money to keep the market open.

The West Fairview farmer's market is one of two farmer's markets in the city scheduled to close on Tuesday.
