Inside Montgomery's Fire Station 12

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - They're regular citizens, who have families, punch a time clock, cook and fellowship.

But when the bell rings at Montgomery Fire Department Station 12, it's a subconscious shift that makes them firefighters.

During a 24 stint at Station 12, the firefighters battled a grass fire, several false alarms, and a two alarm call for an apartment fire.

From the field, to the apartment fire, the firefighters suited up in uniform fashion.

Firefighters work three days at a time, never leaving the station, except for fire calls.  A job attained after six months of extensive training.
