Chilton County man released on bond after terrorist threats

CLANTON, AL (WSFA) - A man who wrote a Facebook post threatening shoot elementary school children has been released from the Chilton County Jail on $15,000 bond.

Clinton County Sheriff Kevin Davis said Donald Jason Giles posted threats that were later determined to be a joke between two friends, but law enforcement didn't think it was funny.

Giles was arrested early Wednesday after the Sheriff's Office received a tip. He was charged with making terrorist threats.

The sheriff says schools were put on lockdown and officers went to every school in the county.
