PRATTVILLE, AL (WSFA) - The step-mother of a young boy who went missing Wednesday contacted WSFA 12 News Friday morning to say he'd been located and is safe.

Authorities asked for the public's help Thursday evening to find missing Prattville teen Lance Haston, 16, who didn't get on the school bus the day before.

WSFA 12 News alerted viewers to the missing child report and met with the child's parents Thursday evening.

Terri Haston, the boy's step-mother, said Millbrook police found the child hiding in the woods behind Wal-Mart. Mrs. Haston said someone inside the store recognized the boy from WSFA 12 News' report.
