Trojans continue road swing at Fullerton

FULLERTON, Calif. The Troy University softball program continues their road swing this week, playing a doubleheader against Cal State Fullerton Tuesday afternoon.  The first game begins at 4 pm local time in California.

Troy (13-6) entered the week on a five-game winning streak, before dropping two heartbreaking games to UNLV and Kansas at the Eller Media Classic. After falling in their last at-bat and in extra innings, the Trojans responded by defeating San Jose State and Bradley to conclude the tournament.

In the tournament, junior Hayden Gann (Hoover, Ala./Hoover HS) hit nearly .500 for the week with a home run and three runs batted in; while Nikki Hollett (Melbourne, Australia/Wesley College) hit four home runs on the week; including three against San Jose State. It is the first time since 2004 that a Trojan has hit three home runs in a single week, and she becomes the third player in Sun Belt Conference history to achieve the feat.

The game against Cal State Fullerton (6-8) will be the third true road game this season for the Trojans. Earlier this season, Troy defeated Southern Miss on the road before falling to UNLV in the Rebels last at-bat on Friday.

Live stats and video will be provided by Cal State Fullerton for the contest.
