New Lawsuit Filed Over The 10 Commandments Monument Removal

A Montgomery federal judge says he will decide Tuesday on whether to hear a lawsuit filed by supporters of the Ten Commandments monument.

The suit seeks to keep the Ten Commandments monument in the rotunda of the state Judicial Building, despite a federal court order to move it. U.S. District Judge Myron Thompson -- the same judge who originally ordered the monument removed from the rotunda -- also denied a request today for an immediate restraining order to put the monument back in the rotunda.

Wednesday a Mobile federal judge dismissed a similar lawsuit because his court did not have jurisdiction on the matter.
