Jerrel Jernigan Diary 3/14/11

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - This coming week is going to be really busy for me.  Wednesday, I have a private workout scheduled with the Atlanta Falcons.

I'm looking forward to meeting with them and I'm hoping to make a strong impression.  They had scouts at the Pro Day as well, and this will be the first team I get to work with in that setting.

Then on Thursday, I take off to fly to Los Angeles.  After my workout, I'll head back to Troy and then wake up and drive to Montgomery.  From there I'll connect in Atlanta and I'll be in California until Saturday.

The purpose of my trip is that I get to take part in my first ever photo shoot.  Last week, I signed a three-year apparel deal with Adidas.

I'm excited about the trip and the deal for a lot of reasons.  At Troy, we were an Adidas school so I'm comfortable with their gear.

Also, it is awesome to be able to sign with a company to endorse their products.  Growing up, that was something the guys I looked up to did so it is humbling to be able to be in that position now.

When I get back from LA, I'll head back to Troy and continue to workout and stay in shape before the draft.

I'll probably have some more private workouts scheduled by then, so while I'm in Troy, I'll run routes  with our quarterbacks and train with the guys in-between working out for teams.

Away from football, I'm excited about March Madness and the tournament coming up.

One other thing people may not know about me is that I'm a big college basketball fan.  In particular I'm a huge Duke fan, so you already know I got them going all the way in my bracket!
