AUBURN, Ala. – The opening weekend of conference play in the Southeastern Conference brings a Top-25 match-up to Plainsman Park as No. 24 Auburn (12-5, 0-0 SEC) plays host to No. 9 Arkansas (14-2, 0-0 SEC) for a three-game baseball series. Game times are set for 6pm on Friday, 3pm on Saturday and 1pm on Sunday.
"When you start talking about SEC play, it doesn't matter too much who you are playing because I believe this conference is so good top-to-bottom," Auburn Head Coach John Pawlowski said. "Arkansas is off to another great start and it looks like they are playing pretty well. I think we have made some progress as a team. I think we have gotten better and we have tried to prepare our guys for this type of competition. I think our preseason schedule has been challenging."
Auburn, which is the defending SEC Western Division Champion, will send Jr. LHP Cory Luckie (1-1, 3.63) to the mound on Friday and Jr. RHP Derek Varnadore (3-0, 2.79) to the mound Sunday but has not determined its Saturday starter.
