Bellingrath student injured by thrown scissors

MONTOGMERY, AL (WSFA) - A Bellingrath Junior High student was transported to the hospital after authorities say he was injured with a pair of scissors.

Tom Salter, Senior Communications Officer with the Montgomery Public School District said a female student threw a pair of scissors at a male student. Those scissors broke the student's skin and lodged in his abdomen.

Students who claimed to have witnessed the incident tell WSFA 12 News that the stabbing was accidental, the students say they were "just playing around."

    A Brundidge man was killed Saturday evening when he was hit by a vehicle in Pike County.  According to the Alabama State Troopers, the crash happened on U.S. 231 near the 173 mile marker. The victim, 60-year-old Eddie Davis Copeland, was hit and killed by a 2001 Ford Crown Victoria driven by Fred Reynolds Hudley, 87, of Brundidge.
