ASU tennis in East vs. East SWAC matchup

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Alabama State University tennis teams will travel to Decatur this weekend for the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) East vs. East Matchups.  The matchups will run Friday-Sunday. 

The Matchups are hosted by Alabama A&M University and will take place at the Jimmy Johns Tennis Center in Point Mallard Park which is located in Decatur.  The format will consist of 10 matches which will see each of the five teams from the East Division playing each other over the course of three days. 

Both ASU teams will open play on Friday, March 25 at 8 a.m. against Jackson State University.  Later that afternoon, both teams will again be in play at 5 p.m. when they play Alcorn State University. 

The men and women will once again play two matches on Saturday and will also play the 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. matches. 

In the early morning match, ASU will face Mississippi Valley State University.  In the final match of the day ASU will face host Alabama A&M University. 

The ASU men enter the weekend with a 3-8 overall record and stand 2-2 in conference action.  The Lady Hornets are 3-12 overall and are 2-4 in the conference.
