Carver Wolverines names new head coach

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - The Carver Wolverines have promoted defensive coordinator Billy Gresham to head coach, replacing Al Pogue.

Gresham, a Lanier High School graduate who played college football at Alabama State, served under Pogue's staff for three seasons at Carver.

Pogue is now a graduate assistant at Auburn University.

Gresham tells the WSFA 12 sports team he's excited about the opportunity, and wants to "finish the job" Pogue began.

Gresham had been serving as Carver's interim head coach since Pogue announced his departure after the season.
