LOCKLAND, OH (FOX19) -

Lockland Police have identified a driver who was killed when a tire fell off a semi truck and struck his van while he was traveling on Interstate 75.

Officers say Dylan Morrison, 22, was traveling southbound on I-75 at the Lockland Split around 9:15 a.m. when his van was hit by a tire that came loose off of a northbound semi-truck and crossed the median. The van struck the wall off of the right hand lane and came to a rest about 0.4 miles down the road.

Police say the semi-truck driver may not have realized the tire fell off, and kept going after the accident. Officers were able to track the truck down a few hours later. It is being held for inspection by Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers.

Two lanes of the interstate were closed for about 2.5 hours while police investigated the crash. All lanes are now reopen.

Police are reviewing ARTIMIS video and are hoping to speak with witnesses. Anyone who saw the crash is asked to call Lockland Police at 513-761-1699.

The incident remains under investigation. Charges are pending.
