No. 4 Lady Senators cruise to first conference victory against No. 13 WCU

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The No. 4 Auburn University at Montgomery women's tennis team rolled past No. 13 William Carey, 7-2, to capture its first Southern States Athletic Conference victory of the season on Sunday.

With the win, the Lady Senators improved to 14-4 on the season, and 1-0 in SSAC action. The Lady Crusaders fell to 8-5 overall and 3-1 in league play.

AUM had a 2-1 advantage over William Carey after doubles play, as junior Ana Veselinovic and sophomore Morgane Zowczak won 8-3 at the No. 1 spot, while sophomore Alina Tseplukhova and freshman Jade Curtis were victorious at the No. 2 position.

In singles, the Lady Senators cruised with victories from Veselinovic, Zowczak, Tseplukhova, Curtis, and junior Kveta Hajkova all in straight sets.

AUM will return to action on Tuesday, when it travels to Macon, Ga., to take on Armstrong Atlantic. The match is slated to begin at noon.
