ASU football continues spring drills

MONTGOMERY, AL —The Alabama State University football team returned to the practice field today for their seventh session.  The Hornets continue to work on their learning of the new offensive system under new offensive Coordinator, Fred Kaiss.

ASU continues to also work on fundamentals on the defensive side of the ball in preparation for the first scrimmage of the spring on Saturday.

The Hornets have over 80 players out on the field for the spring drills and with a lot of returning players expectations are high for this fall.

"We have some high expectations for the upcoming season," head coach Reggie Barlow said.  "It is a little different around here than it has been in the past when we did not have as much depth.  We will continue to work on developing good, solid depth while we continue to learn some new things."

The Hornets will take tomorrow (Thursday) off before returning to the practice field at 3 p.m. on Friday.  The Hornets will be on the field at 9 a.m. Saturday warming up for the start of the first scrimmage.
