Late breaking, local news

Friday - April 1, 2011

Our lead story tonight - straight from the Federal Courthouse here in Montgomery. A judge threatens sanctions against federal prosecutors who are handling the state house/bingo bill corruption case. Now the 10 defendants want the charges against them dropped.

Governor Robert Bentley talks about his decision-making process when it came to cutting the state's General Fund budget by 15%.  Then we'll sample some local residents' reaction to the plan to curb state spending.

In Tuscaloosa, the statue of Nick Saban is ready to be unveiled.  We'll tell you when Bama fans can see it...in sports with Derek Steyer.

And, the rattlesnakes are filling the pits at the annual Opp Rattlesnake Rodeo.  We'll sample the activities planned for the weekend of food, fun, music and slithering reptiles.

Oh yeah...there's the forecast...a great one.  Watch Jeff Jumper's weather for the high and low temperatures for a really nice weekend.

Hope you enjoy yourself over the weekend...but be sure to catch all our newscasts, too.

Take care,

Bob H.
