ASU baseball squares off with JSU

The Alabama State University baseball team travels to Jackson State University in Jackson, Miss. for a SWAC weekend series with the Tigers.  The first pair of games are set for Friday, April 8 starting a 3 p.m. while Saturday's doubleheader is slated to begin at 1 p.m.

The Hornets (10-13, 3-8 SWAC) are coming off a 12-11 win over Florida A&M on Wednesday.  This game saw 11 innings before Alabama State's Gerald Washington hit the game winning run in, on a fly to center field.

Sophomore infielder Josue Quinones leads the team in batting (.548) and on-base percentage (.611) and leads the Southwestern Athletic Conference in batting and on base percentage.

Junior Ryan Epperson ranks second on the team in batting (.438), hits (14), and runs scored (12).  He is ranked second in the conference in batting percentage.

Junior Jordan Mims leads the team in hits (25) and runs (17).  He has doubled four times this season, one triple and 10 RBI's.
