Bama men's track and field travels to Texas and Mississippi

TUSCALOOSA, AL The University of Alabama men's track and field team splits up this weekend with 10 student-athletes competing in the prestigious Texas Relays and others participating in the Ole Miss Invitational on Saturday.

The 84th annual Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays are hosted over the course of four days at the University of Texas' Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin, Texas with the bulk of the Crimson Tide's competitors in action on Friday and Saturday. The nation's second-largest track and field meet typically features nearly 5,000 athletes and 50,000 spectators over the four-day event.

Alabama will be well represented in the Jerry Thompson Mile competition with Emmanuel Bor, Julius Bor and Fred Samoei slated to lineup against world class professional athletes in the 16-runner field. The Tide will also field entries in the high jump with Tyler Campbell and Jonathan Reid jumping and the two-day decathlon with Michael Hughes competing. Kamal Fuller is scheduled to compete in both the 110m hurdles and long jump while Dwayne Extol will race in the 400m hurdles. UA is also schedule to field relay teams in the 4x100m and 4x400m.

The remainder of the team will travel to Oxford, Miss., for the Ole Miss Invitational on Saturday. The day-long competition begins at 10 a.m. with the majority of the Tide's entries not competing until after noon.

The Tide will reunite next weekend and return to the Lone Star State for the UTEP Invitational on April 15-16 in El Paso, Texas.
