In a non conference match-up, the Alabama State baseball team fell 6-1 to Georgia State at Panthersville Field Wednesday evening.
The Hornets fall 11-17 overall, while Georgia State improves to 26-9.
Alabama State had chances, putting runners on base through the first seven innings, but could not plate a run. The Panthers got on board with single runs in the third inning and fourth inning, to take a 2-0 lead. The Panthers then scored twice in the sixth and seventh innings, respectively to take a 6-0 lead.
The Hornets scored their lone run in the eighth inning on a sacrifice fly by Adrian Snell, scoring Darrion Pedro.
The Hornets will continue road play as they face the Tigers of Tuskegee University in Tuskegee, Ala. on Thursday at 1 p.m.
