MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - At least two churches are destroyed and a third heavily damaged in Alabama as severe weather rolled through the state Friday and into Saturday morning.
WSFA 12 News and the Raycom News Network confirmed the destruction of two churches in Monroe County Friday afternoon. The Emergency Management Agency in Monroe County said Amnity Church in Tunnell Springs and Old Texas Baptist Church off Highway 29 have both been destroyed.
On scene witnesses in Autauga County confirm to WSFA 12 News that Boone's Chapel Baptist Church near the Posey Crossroads area sustained heavy damage to the front of the building.
WSFA 12 News continues to look for details surrounding the destruction at these churches and the surrounding areas where numerous injuries are being reported.
