New Information Released on Alabama Tornado Outbreak

Autauga County, AL (WSFA) - Governor Robert Bentley is surveying the damage left behind by a series of powerful tornadoes that hit Alabama on Friday.

The Governor arrived in Autauga County around noon on Saturday and briefed the press on the state's efforts to help the victims. 

The National Weather service just confirmed it was an EF3 tornado that hit Boone's Chapel killing 3 people and injuring 7 people late Friday night.  The National Weather service says "an outbreak of tornadoes" hit Alabama and other states and their teams are surveying the damage today.

No names have been released of the victims in Autauga County, however WSFA 12 News has learned that grief counselors will be on hand at Pine Level Elementary and Marbury High School on Monday.

At least 4 other people died in Friday's storms in Alabama.
