Tree poison suspects' story of attack

Wednesday - April 20, 2011

More tonight in the saga of the man accused of poisoning the Toomer's Corner oak trees on the Auburn Campus.  Harvey Updyke says he was attacked by one or more assailants behind a convenience store in Opelika.  He says he never saw who did it. We'll tell you the rest of the story at 10.

A Facebook page tied to an area high school caused quite a stir over the last few days.  School officials and police investigated it as a case of cyber bullying.  Tonight we'll tell you what *was* on the page.

Today is the first day of the second year of the recovery from the world's worst oil spill.  We're on the beach at Gulf Shores for more on how that part of the gulf has been cleaned and is ready for tourists.

Did you know there's a free service that could make that beach getaway a little more enjoyable?  Details in tonight's Taking Back Our Neighborhoods.

And, "W" is coming to town.  Former President George W. Bush to speak in Montgomery in October.  Tickets go on sale tomorrow if you'd like to see him.

A lot to talk about and show you...coming up at 10.  Val's back from assignment...along with Jeff, Rich and me!

See you then.

Bob H.
