ASU Baseball falls to Miss. Valley

The Alabama State University baseball team lost to Mississippi Valley 9-6 Friday evening at Magnolia Field.

Alabama State started the scoring early, tallying two runs in the first when Jordan Mims blasted a two-run homerun to make the score 2-0.  The Delta Devils took advantage of miscues by the Hornets to score a run, and then added two more runs in the bottom of the first to take a 3-2.

The Hornets tied the score in the fourth at 3-3 on a wild pitch, scoring Andrew Pitts.

Mississippi Valley struck back with a run in the bottom of the fourth and picked up four runs in the bottom of the sixth giving them an 8-4 lead.

The Hornets will continue its series in Itta Bena Saturday afternoon starting at 1 p.m.
