MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -
The life cycle of a butterfly. That's what second graders at Alabama Christian Academy in Montgomery are learning about. And just like the butterfly, these kids are going through different stages as well. The person leading the way is their teacher Mrs. Rachel Hatcher. "I graduated from here," Hatcher said. "Its like my home, this place is very close to my heart."
Mrs. Hatcher has been teaching for 15 years, and she's spent the last 10 at ACA. "It's always something I wanted to do, be a teacher, ever since I was a little girl." The person who nominated her for the "Class Act" award says Mrs. Hatcher takes care of the whole class and treats every child like her own.
Mrs. Hatcher says ACA is the perfect place for her. "Its amazing to be able to have the impact you can have here, especially at Alabama Christian where you can teach kids about God."
Soon her little second graders will get their wings, and fly off just like the butterfly. And they can thank Mrs. Rachel Hatcher for getting them ready for the next level. She's a real "Class Act."
