Approaching storm system leaves trail of death and destruction

The same storm system that is headed for Alabama has spawned dozens of tornadoes, flash floods have forced people from their homes. Large sections of the nation's midsection are still reeling.

Arkansas is under a state of emergency this morning and the death toll there continues to rise as rescuers sift through rubble looking for survivors. At least seven people are dead, dozens more are injured. These deaths come on the heels of a storm system that left six dead and dozens injured in Arkansas and Missouri about two weeks ago.

A weakening line of thunderstorms in Mississippi is approaching Alabama today. But the more severe weather is expected to arrive in the area Wednesday afternoon and continue through the evening. Multiple thunderstorms capable of producing tornadoes are expected.
