ASU Softball ready to put wrap on season

The Alabama State University softball team will play its final regular season game hosting Jacksonville State from Lagoon Park Wednesday.  First pitch for the single game is set for 6 p.m. 

This will be the final tune-up before the team makes the trip to Irondale, Ala. to the Southwestern Athletic Conference Tournament next week.   ASU (10-31) and JSU (34-12) met in the All Alabama Classic earlier this is season in Birmingham resulting in a 10-1 defeat for the Lady Hornets. 

ASU is coming off of a series victory over Alabama A&M, winning two out of three games this past weekend.    Brehanna Rodrigues hit an RBI single in the seventh inning to help lift the Lady Hornets past AAMU 10-9.  Rodrigues leads the team with a .426 batting average.

 Megan Dixon and Ayesha Famble are tied for a team best seven homeruns this season. 

Admission for Wednesday's game is free.
