Alabama National Guard mobilized to help EMA

The Alabama National Guard has activated 35 soldiers to assist the Alabama Emergency Management Agency in response to the governor's declaration of a state of emergency because of today's storms and those anticipated later this evening.

The Alabama EMA has requested assistance in Montgomery, Walker, and Cullman Counties, as well as at the AEMA headquarters. Currently, the Alabama National Guard is assisting in tarp delivery and road clearing missions, as well as preparing for a greater response should it be needed throughout the evening as we experience more severe weather across the state.

Prattville City Hall in Autauga County will serve as a storm shelter tonight.
