Due to heavy thunderstorms in the Montgomery area and the threat of inclement weather later today, the NAIA Baseball National Championship Opening Round Tournament being played at the AUM Baseball Complex has been suspended and will resume Saturday morning at 11 a.m.
The contest between top-seed LSU Shreveport and No. 2 seed Auburn University at Montgomery will resume at 11 a.m. tomorrow morning. The game will resume at the point of suspension, tied 2-2, in the middle of the fourth inning.
In the first game of the day, No. 5 seed Huntington University defeated No. 3 seed Union University in an elimination game and will now take on No. 4 seed William Woods at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday in an elimination game.
The winner of that contest will take on the loser of the currently suspended game between the Pilots and Senators at 6 p.m. on Saturday.
The championship game has now been changed to 1 p.m. on Sunday, May 15, with the if-necessary game to follow at approximately 4:30 p.m.
