ABBEVILLE, AL (WSFA) - The missing person search for a man in Henry County has been called off and police are now shifting their focus to a possible case of foul play.

The Henry County Sheriff's Office/Abbeville Police Task Force, Headland Police Department, the Alabama Bureau of Investigations and the Federal Bureau of Investigations say they've worked tirelessly trying to locate Apolinar "Poli" Perez, 21, who disappeared on May 7.

Perez was last seen in the area of U.S. Highway 431 and County Road 119 north of Abbeville around 3pm that day.

The Task Force and the FBI say they now have reason to suspect foul play, but specific details have not been released. The focus of the investigation is being shifted to a capital murder investigation.

Currently, the Task Force, ABI and FBI are following many leads and the case is still under active investigation.

If anyone has any information regarding the disappearance of Apolinar "Poli" Perez, please contact the Henry County Sheriff's Office, Abbeville Police Department or the local FBI office.
