BARBOUR CO., AL (WSFA) - The end of the school year will mark the end of an era for a school in Barbour County. Dixie Academy will closes its doors for the last time.
The school has been a part of the community for decades, having been founded in 1967.
Headmaster Jim Partin tells WSFA 12 News that the decision to close was very tough, but declining enrollment over the past few years left no other options.
Dixie will sell off all the items at the school, everything that's not nailed down.
The online auction begins on Friday, May 27th and ends June 14th.
The auction will be held at this address: www.soldalabama.com.
