Hostage victim's family speaks out

Thursday - May 19, 2011

Hope you're getting ready for the weekend....and that you'll join us tonight at 10.  Our lead story examines a family's claim that the Special Ops Unit of the Elmore County Sheriff's Department did not properly handle a hostage situation back in December.  The hostage and the hostage-taker were both killed.

Members of the Bullock County Commission have been arrested and charged with not following the state's bid laws.  We were in Union Springs for this unusual story - and to find out what happens next for the five men charged.

In a special report, we'll talk about the rising cost of a college education in the state and how you can get started with a plan to ease the pain of the tuition, fees and other expenses.  It's good information that may save you or a family member some money.

And, just when you thought you had seen it all, some absolutely remarkable video from VERY close to the huge tornado that tore through Tuscaloosa April 27th.  As we often say...you gotta see it to believe it.  And you can, tonight at 10.

Plus a preview of the fireworks spectacular will highlight the first night of Jubilee...tomorrow.

And, BTW, Rich says you're going to believe in summer again by Saturday afternoon.

I'll be looking for you at 10!

Bob H.
