HENRY CO., AL (WSFA) - The murder investigation of Clarence Williams, 31, continues Monday.
The Henry County Sheriff's Office/Abbeville Police Task Force have asked the U.S. Marshals for assistance in locating Carl Bernard Kennedy, nephew of the victim.
A murder warrant has been issued for Kennedy who is a suspect in the shooting death of Williams that occurred on Saturday evening, May 21st.
Investigators have reason to believe that Kennedy fled the State of Alabama after the shooting on Saturday.
The incident occurred during a family gathering at a residence on County Road 267 east of Abbeville near Shorterville. Williams was shot in the face with a long gun that witnesses say Kennedy retrieved from the trunk of his vehicle.
Investigators have another person in custody for questioning and have not released the individuals name at this time.
Sheriff Maddox says that Carl Bernard Kennedy should be considered armed and dangerous as law enforcement continue their search.
