MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - The Montgomery Police Department has arrested a man they believe could be responsible for the Memorial Day shooting death of 22-year-old Candice Sanders.
According to police, 19-year-old Kardrekus Dixon turned himself in after learning of the murder warrant against him.
Dixon was arrested for murder and transported to the Montgomery County Detention Facility where he is being held with no bond due to a probation violation.
Sanders was driving her blue Chevy Aveo on the South Boulevard near the intersection of Rosa Parks Avenue around 8:00 in the evening when police believe someone inside the vehicle shot her in the back of the head. The vehicle left the road and crashed through a fence and into the front yard of a home. Sanders was pronounced dead on the scene.
