Time is running out on the legislative session

Thursday - June 2, 2011

Lawmakers are rushing to pass bills that will make the state's two budgets acceptable to Gov. Bentley.  He says they need to shore up some funding allocations for Medicaid and other agencies before he'll sign the General Fund and Education budgets.  We'll be LIVE at the Alabama State House for the story at 6.

The brew pub bill passed in the legislature.  So what does that mean to you if you're a beer drinker fond of "home brew?" We'll tell you at 6.

A lot of folks would think a cold beer - or anything cold - would be great right after work today. The early heat wave continues to jam the mercury to the top of the thermometer. We're on track to at least tie the record for this date in Montgomery....98*.  Rich updates the rain chances. (Spoiler alert: the chances are somewhere between slim and none.)

A Prattville Police officer flips a patrol car during a chase.  We'll tell you what we know about the crash and the officer's condition.

Montgomery police make an arrest in the fatal shooting of a 22 year old woman.  Remember that story?  The woman was driving along the boulevard when she was shot in the head by someone in the car.  Police charged that "someone" they believe is responsible for the murder.

All this and the official pronouncement of the Alabama Mississippi High School Football All Star game moving to Montgomery's new and improved Cramton Bowl in December.

Hope you'll make plans to join us at 5, 6, 9 (on 12.2) and 10.

(That's a lot of LIVE LOCAL news stories in five-and-a-half-hours.)
