ATMORE, AL (WSFA) - The Alabama Forestry Commission is reporting at least 4 wildfires burning in Escambia County at this hour.
The photos on this story is from a fire happening on Robinson Field Road approximately 12 miles west of Atmore. It's estimated to have burned about 220 acres.
AFC's Mike Kyser says the commission has 3 dozer units in the area working to contain the blaze. Multiple fire departments, including 2 from Florida, are also battling the flames.
Information on the other 3 Escambia County fires was not immediately available.
A fifth fire, which started Wednesday, continues to burn in Baldwin County. It has consumed approximately 140 acres.
The state of Alabama is being helped by Florida responders because of heat and weather conditions and because resources are "stretched thin" in the southern part of the state due to numerous fires.
