Puppy Overcrowding a Problem at Shelter

Montgomery, AL (WSFA)  - The Montgomery Humane Society is dealing with a major puppy overpopulation problem. The shelter is packed with puppies who need new homes.  As of Monday, the shelter has 63 puppies.  That is well above the normal of 20 to 30 they usually have.

What is making the problem worse is the cat and kitten population is also increasing, which is normal in the summer. Puppies are discounted.  Some are priced as low as 50 dollars. The prices go up depending on the dog's size and age.

If you want to pick one up, go to the shelter on John Overton Drive in Montgomery or call 409-0622 if you have questions.
