FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) - Tom Brady threw two touchdown passes and the New England Patriots toyed with the Atlanta Falcons in a fog-filled Super Bowl rematch Sunday night that wasn't particularly super. While Atlanta looked tentative, if not intimidated, Brady and his offense clinically tore apart the Falcons for a 23-7 victory at Foxborough. Mixing runs and passes, New England controlled the clock and field position.

NEW YORK (AP) - Allen Crabbe scored 20 points, DeMarre Carroll had 17 and the Brooklyn Nets beat the Atlanta Hawks 116-104 Sunday. Marco Belinelli had 19 points for Atlanta. The Hawks have lost two in a row to drop to 1-2.

ATLANTA (AP) - Atlanta United set a pair of attendance records Sunday but failed to secure a first-round bye in the playoffs when Sebastian Giovinco scored on a brilliant free kick in the 84th minute, giving Toronto FC a 2-2 tie and the most points ever in a Major League Soccer season. Atlanta will host Columbus in the opening round of the playoffs.

STATESBORO, Ga. (AP) - Georgia Southern has fired coach Tyson Summers halfway through his second season with the school after an 0-6 start. The Eagles were blown out 55-20 on Saturday by previously winless Massachusetts, dropping Summers' record to 5-13. Summers is a Georgia native who was defensive coordinator at Colorado State and Central Florida before being hired by Georgia Southern to replace Willie Fritz after the 2015 season.
