Tide diver to compete at World University Games

Alabama All-American Aaron Fleshner has been named to the United State's 2011 World University Games team USA Diving announced Tuesday.

Fleshner will compete off the 1 and 3-meter boards as well as the 3-meter synchro event. Team USA consists of 12 divers from nine universities. The World University Games will take place August 11-23 in Shenzhen, China.

It will be Fleshner's second trip to China on behalf of Team USA this summer, the Spring, Texas native is also part of the U.S. World Championship team and will compete off the 3-meter board July 16-24 in Shanghai, China.

Fleshner was a four-year All-American for Alabama from 2007-10, as well as a multiple Southeastern Conference Champion and the 2009 SEC Diver of the Year. He was seventh off the three-meter board at the 2008 USA Olympic Trials and finished as high as third at the NCAA Championships. He is currently living and training in Tuscaloosa while completing his engineering degree.
