Maxwell Gunter Air Force Base To Get New Jobs

An agency at Maxwell-Gunter Air Force Base says it will add 65 new technology jobs to its 250-member work force as a result of consolidation efforts by the Defense Department.

The Defense Enterprise Computing Center of the Information Systems Agency is expected to gain new technology and 65 employees, who will be hired primarily from the Montgomery area, says Rick Fleming, director of the agency's Montgomery branch. The agency has a work force made up of federal civil service personnel and technical contractors from more than a dozen Montgomery area and international industry partners. Fleming says a goal of the consolidation effort is to designate more civil personnel to administrative positions so service personnel can focus on military operations.
