WSFA 12 News teamed up with the American Red Cross in Alabama to help the people of Oklahoma following the tornadoes that took 24 lives and caused extensive damage. Our on air and on line Disaster Relief Drive has raised $45,641 up to now.More >>
Music star Rihanna is announcing she'll make a stop in Alabama during her critically acclaimed LOUD tour. The additional date will be in Birmingham and is set for July 11th at the Jefferson Civic Center Arena.
All proceeds are will go to benefit local community relief efforts from the April 27 tornadoes. Three charities will receive donations from the show, Project Team Up, Tuscaloosa Disaster Relief Fund, and the Mayor's Disaster Relief Fund.
"Hearing about the hundreds of lives that have been lost and the communities that have been so devastated by this disaster... I wanted to figure out a way to help," Rihanna said. "I'm hoping that bringing the LOUD tour through Alabama can provide a moment of relief and raise a lot of money for the charities we are working with."
