Manhunt ends with Enterprise suspect's phone call

ENTERPRISE, AL (WSFA) - The Enterprise Police Department says it has arrested an 18-year-old man on robbery, weapons charges and eluding police charges.

Tahjdre Rashad Horton was taken into custody by Enterprise police officers.

Officers were called to the 900 block of West Watts Street on a robbery call and while in route to the call, authorities noticed a vehicle leaving the scene that matched the description of the suspect's.

Officers say the tried to stop the vehicle, but were unsuccessful. After a short pursuit, Horton abandoned the vehicle and fled into a wooded area.

An extensive search was started with the help of the Dale County Sheriff's Office Air One helicopter. Horton later called police and turned himself in early Thursday morning.

The victim of the robbery was treated minor injuries and released from Medical Center Enterprise.

The Robbery is still under investigation and may be drug related, according to police.

Additional arrests are expected.
