If your commute includes I-85 in the mornings I'm sure you've noticed men alongside the roadways picking up trash and road debris and thought to yourself "who would want to do that?"

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

Independence Day, Fourth of July, "The day I catch up on yard work?!?" However you refer to the 4th it's a holiday we all look forward to each year for different reasons.

The 4th of July is commonly associated with parades, barbecues, baseball, outdoor concerts and of course - fireworks.  Each of these activities represents a wonderful opportunity to share quality time with co-workers, family and friends. So put down the smart-phone, no texting or emails and strike up an old fashioned conversation over a hotdog and a wonderful display of theatrics in the sky.

From someone who has just spent a good deal of time out of the country I can truly say it's great to be home in the USA.  This is a great country we live in due in large part to freedom and liberties we enjoy because of the service and sacrifice of our armed service men and women-we thank you.

Enjoy your holiday, be safe on the roads, be careful with fireworks and create some memories with those you love.

We appreciate your feedback.
