MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) – A new transition will be underway for Montgomery Public Schools this fall. All rising sixth graders will move up to middle school.
To help ease the transition, MPS held a middle school showcase Saturday at Alabama State University.
The showcase provided parents with information on district programs and services, as well as strategies for helping sixth graders adjust to middle school.
Students also got to learn about obtaining lockers, uniform fees, clubs, activities, how to change classes and even time management.
Parents and students also had the opportunity to ask questions, meet middle school principals, and interact with district staff.
Seven workshops for the transitioning students were presented during the showcase.
