MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - A 19-year-old Montgomery man is charged with homicide after the gun he was handling discharged and killed his girlfriend Tuesday morning.
Kenneth King of Stokes Road is charged with murder in connection to the shooting death of Marquishia Thigpen, 19, of Frost Street.
King was charged Tuesday morning at police headquarters before being transported to the Montgomery County Detention Center.
He's being held under $75,000 bond.
Investigators say the shooting happened in the early morning hours at a home in the 300 block of Mooreland Road.
Thigpen was taken by a private vehicle to Baptist Medical Center South but died at 3:12am.
An investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
