Representative Christopher John England (Tuscaloosa) has sponsored a bill in the Alabama legislature that would allow convicted felons of drug crimes to receive food stamps under certain circumstances.
MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

Our Immigration Considerations editorial prompted this differing feedback:

"The toxic partisan atmosphere in Alabama to these our fellow citizens is detrimental to all of us.  A reasonable, simple pathway to a work permit for undocumented immigrants IS the answer.  PLEASE, lawmakers give serious consideration to this difficult issue and have the courage to amend or repeal this law!"

And "The people running the show need to stop spending like crazy on everything and give hardworking people a decent standard of living.  Just because these people are from other countries doesn't make them less than human.  Cut the red tape."

And on the other side of the aisle:

"What part of "illegal" do these people not understand?  When in the United States of America follow the written laws, or LEAVE…. "

And finally, "these people broke the law and should not be rewarded."

We appreciate this and all feedback.
