Suspect in Auburn standoff identified

AUBURN, AL (WSFA) -

The Auburn Police Department said it would release the name of the suspect at the center of a standoff if he was not taken into custody overnight. Thursday morning, authorities identified the suspect as 29-year-old Justin L. Reeder of Salem, Alabama.

The standoff took place at an apartment in the 400 block of East Magnolia Avenue Wednesday, but ended when a SWAT team entered the apartment and found it empty. 

Reeder is wanted in connection with threats, both spoken and written, against his ex-girlfriend. The two were involved in an ongoing domestic situation 2am Wednesday. Authorities set up surveillance on the apartment in an effort to catch the suspect.

Reeder also has two outstanding warrants in Auburn for rendering false information and attempting to elude police and three outstanding warrants through Lee County for failure to pay and probation violation. 

Reeder is 5'9" tall and weighs approximately 160 pounds.
