A homicide investigation is now underway after an autopsy determined the cause of 58-year-old Tallapoosa County resident Maxine Jackson's death. Two people are under arrest and charged with her murder.
Tallapoosa County Sheriff Jimmy Abbett said Jackson's body was discovered during a welfare check at her home on Mary Drive in Tallassee that Friday, July 15.
An autopsy indicates she died of multiple blunt force injuries.
An investigation led to the arrests of Turner Parker, 38, of Tallassee, and Artavis Demetrius Pendleton, 24, of Tuskegee. Both are charged with Capital Murder in Jackson's death.
A motive was not released by the sheriff's office and the investigation is ongoing.
Additional details surrounding the homicide investigation are not being released.
Parker and Pendleton are being held at the Tallapoosa County Jail without bond.
